“When Mojo lies on her back, does she see everything upside down?”
“I don’t think so, Button but, imagine yourself doing a headstand. Or just do it. How would you see everything?”
“Basically the same way and, instead of paying attention to everything at eye level when I am standing on my feet, I’d pay more attention to the lights, the ceiling, sometimes chance on a lizard crawling above me.”
“Exactly. When I did the headstand last Saturday in yoga class, I discovered that my feet were unevenly sized. I even mentioned this to Dost who was in the same room doing kapalbhati pranayam to which his reply was that I must be a female ghost!”
“Why a female ghost?”
“According to him, only female ghosts have unevenly sized feet as well as feet facing in the opposite direction. He had apparently read this in a Bengali short story titled “Bhushundir Mathey” which translates into “On the fields of Bhushundi” — a fictional village– in a short story by Parshuram as a kid. This had our yoga instructor rolling on the floor and laughing.”
