A Day In The Life Of Messi: Our Take | Flash Post 413

Button, I have often wondered what passes through Messi’s head as he lives from day to day. It is fascinating to watch him all curled up on the sofa every night with a frown on his face as if deep in thought. I was thinking of writing a post where I present a particular mood of his and you and I give our account of what could be coursing through his mind.

That could be fun and something we’ve never done before.

WHEN HE’S LYING ON THE COUCH FAST ASLEEP
Button: He’s dreaming of serenading the love of his life in the enchanted Garden of Eden.

I’d say he’s dreaming about how he’d enact the role of The Lion King if he was offered the role.

WHEN HE WAKES UP EACH MORNING AT THE CRACK OF DAWN AND YAWNS WITH HIS MOUTH STRETCHED TO ITS LIMIT
Button: I’d say he’s irritated having got a whiff of his stale morning breath and waiting patiently for chotididi to open the terrace door so he can go out and chew on some lemon grass to freshen his breath.

I’d say he’s staring at the three other occupants in the same room and hatching his first prank for the day which is to tickle the fat Labrador who’s lying on her back with arms outstretched desperately trying to keep her balance.

HIS LEAP INTO THE TERRACE AT SIX EVERY MORNING
Button: I’d say he’s looking forward to chase the crow who got to the centipede before him the previous day.

I think he’s cleaning up to look his best if chotididi decides to click group pictures of the three of them like she often does. He busies himself by licking his paws first and cleaning his eyes and checking his reflection in the bowl of water again and again to make sure his hair is slicked back.

THE FIRST COUPLE OF HOURS IN THE MORNING
Button: I feel he has a conversation with Surya, the sun god, before getting started with suryanamaskar.

I think he sits on the roof all stretched out, savouring the silence with nothing on his mind, while the cool early morning breeze tickles the fuzz on his chest.

WHEN HE COMES INDOORS AND MEOWS OUTSIDE BARIDIDI’S DOOR TO BE LET IN
Button: If she delays, he gets all worked up because Mala is inside and, as her elder brother, wants to be let in to check on her so he can change her soiled diaper just in case she’s needs it.

I think he’s hungry and wants to be let in so he can eat his breakfast.

POST BREAKFAST
Button: He suddenly remembers its been a long time since he got barididi a gift and rushes out into the garden to find something.

He wants to get out hurriedly because that’s when chotididi’s in the terrace waiting to play with him and scratch him all over.

LUNCHTIME
Button: He’s made up his mind that if barididi doesn’t feed him today, he’ll go hungry just to teach her a lesson.

It’s 1.30 in the afternoon and he’s looking forward to his nap as he climbs on top of the wardrobe. He not bothered if he’s hungry because lunch is never served on time.

7 PM AND TEATIME
Button: His stomach is making funny noises so he leaps down from the top of the wardrobe and joins the family for snacks.

He’s not too happy because, while the others munch on different snacks every evening, he’s fed only one kind of something that comes out of a tube and is wet, gooey and smelling of fish. He doesn’t like fish.

DURING DINNER WHEN THE FAMILY IS SEATED AT THE TABLE
Button: He is troubled about whether he should sit with the family while they have dinner or entertain Mala! He chooses the latter because he’s practised those dance steps in his head this morning to amuse her.

Seeing Mama, the building cat in the garden outside, he’s desperate to break free from behind the grilled windows to go and meet with her but his heart goes out to the family who gave him a home when he needed one. The other being his responsibility towards Mala. He changes his mind.

SLEEP TIME FOR EVERYONE
Button: That’s when he really comes alive and is at his naughtiest. At this point, he’s biding his time to see who he can scare by hiding behind a bookshelf he can merge with by suddenly leaping at the person who’s passing by.

I think he realises didi’s going to catch him and take him inside her room. Knowing that she could never have been a goalkeeper, he makes it even more difficult for her to get him. He dodges with her and finally decides to give in out of pity and cuddles up on his couch for the night.

Well, then, that’s more or less an account of a day in Messi’s life.

The most unusual one, of course, was the day he encountered the langurs on the rooftop. What do you think crossed his mind, Button?

Button: They looks almost human. But humans don’t have tails! I haven’t checked that out though.

I’d say he rushed back inside the house to tell  barididi about two strange looking creatures in his playground and if he could go out and play with them. He sulked the rest of the day as he was sharply reprimanded and locked up inside the house.
